Today

After the hectic chaos of the last few weeks between the car and everything, today we skipped gym went to Piano, made it home before 5 had left overs for tea so i didn't have to cook and took a walk down the end of the street, bush walking in our own backyard - our area is pretty much surrounded by bush - we were searching for cycad's and pandanus trees to photograph for Acacia's latest homework project - a scrapbook about the buildings in our school which are all names after plants - we found a stack of eucalypts but she has finished that page with photographs from school, but we also found a stack of really tiny gum nuts that the girls had an awesome time collecting. Then we found a small creek which at this time of the year in the mid of the dry is not much more than a slimy green mess but the girls had a great time throwing rocks into it and watching them splash, reminded me lots of skimming stones across the water at the beach in emsworth years ago. It was lots of fun despite the fact that eesha was paranoid about all the holes in the ground . Not sure if they were snake holes of frog holes or Lizard ones or all of the above. These are my favourite photos, Acacia throwing rocks, Ayesha with her collection of gum nuts now covering my bench, the prickly leaves cycad i think and the pods on the plant a cycad . These plants have been burnt in the last 3 months i think. and my favourite one from Friday

. . .otherwise known as quick run for cover. . . . dodgem while your driving. . . . . bang bang day. . . . . we headed to the beach for the markets . . . best move ever despite the fact that it took ten mins to park and that was extremerly lucky and 15 to get something to eat. The markets were tame no people throwing fireworks and a spectacular show most of the time we were eating(crepes yum yum) but managed to get two good shots of the fireworks. Eesha has taken to my bed for the night claiming the bangs from the firewworks are too scary to sleep in her bed, like it makes a difference when i am not there!

    For Uncle Paul

. . . who winged that i hadn't posted.

It is holidays one would think that would mean i was less busy but Nooooooooooooo! We have actually managed to get home later the last two nights than usual.

Monday afternoon i picked up a book. . . bad move. . .should've done the folding instead.. . .the book was good very good (nineteen minutes) (did however manage to make it to the brand new scrapbook shop that opened tuesday , funny about that!)I finished it Wednesday in between getting the car serviced. . .my favourite thing to do and a visit from a friend. . . . .still no folding. . . oh well i have all thursday. . .

thursday i dropped the girls at gym Jo had done it wednesday and took off for the hairdresser. . . .i had a 10:30 appointment finally got served at 11:00 i was nearly in tears because i knew that i absolutely could not be late to pick the girls up. . . . anyway got hair cut and dyed and finally made it out of there at 12:40 no time for lunch make it to the gym at 12:50 (ten minutes to spare) get a coke from the vending machine before they spot me . . "Lisa are you picking Miss I up?" "Yep" " She's hurt her arm we think it's dislocated we tried to call you and Jo" " oH So does she need to go to the hospital" (says me duh!) "Yes" "so i should take her straight to the hospital? " "Yes" So anyway we get Ireland in the car loaded up with Ice and otherpeoples clothes shoved under her arm to hold in up. . . meanwhile i might add she is just saying it hurts. . Then as they do that i call Jo. . "Jo I hurt her art I'll meet you at the hospital. . Bye" (Poor Jo) Then I can't find the keys, spend what feels like 5 mins looking Catherine comes over then I remember they are in the door where i left them when I opened the car. . .head for the hospital while I wimpers she wants her Mum and cries out softly when the road is bumpy (so much for speeding we actually went slower. . .at the hospital, no parking so i parked right outside Emergency. . .left the car "what if we get in trouble says Acacia" "Too bad if they tow it i'll pay to get it out" I reply. . .into the emergency we say the triage lady and the reception. . good thing Ireland's birthday is the same as Mums. . .sit down and wait says the receptionist. . . I was spewing I thought they'd let us right through. . it was packed though. . . It was like 5 mins then Jo arrived . . .and I left to go and move the car. . by the time we got back Ireland had been seen to SO we found her and i grabbed Indi and Master S and took the 4 kids to Macas. . . .The poor kids were starving by that stage since it was 2pm aand the girls had not eaten since brekky and had done 3 hours of gym. . . . . The day went on like that we made it home for 10 mins at 5 and then again at 7:40pm for the night. Turned out Miss I had broken her arm and dislocated her elbow. . such an unusal event that the ER doc took a photo of the arm and xray for teaching purposes. Today was much like yesterday. . .had gym then after gym we had lunch at cas then went to stay with I for the afternoon while Jo went home for a while. So that folding I should have done on Mon is still sitting there. . . .for tommorrow. . .

pHOTOS COMING HAVE SOME GOOD ONES, TURNS OUT aCACIA CAME 5TH in the states gym comp. for level 3 wag, not a bad effort considering she was sick. Eesh well who knows what she came there were 40 level 1's and no doubt she was the only 5 year old so i think even if she came last (which she didn't) that was a huge achievement.

Photos later.

    More on numbers

    Saturday, 26 May 2007

. . . long time. . . busy. . Where did April and May go?

So for work we did these assessments on number. . the number 6 to be exact. . . Making 6 as many different ways as you can . . . . needless to say Ayesha did rather well . . .so her teacher says to me Did you do it with her? Ofcourse I didn't . . .so i said no she is just cluey with numbers. Then the other day I had some chocolate and she says " Mummy you've got 6 pieces of chocolate" So I said "how do you know that?" So she says " Well 3 and 3 is 6". . . this is the story I told the teacher. But today as I went to access this page I reread part of an old post a conversation with Ayesha and it depicted exactly what I had said to the teacher.

aND Aas for Miss A1 i will say only one thing I am entirely sick of the 7 ancient wonders of the world and the great wall of china and indeed anythhing ancient. This month I have had a view of the future ruled by homework scheduals and assignments!!!! Who was the very unintelligent person who invented homework?
